This pivotal role will play a significant part in shaping the company's future strategy by leveraging expert knowledge in Powertrain Durability CAE and analysis delivery, particularly in the realm of Energy Storage & Electrical commodities.

As the Durability CAE Chapter Lead, you will spearhead the coaching, mentoring, and career advancement of a team of structural analysts, seamlessly integrating them into Agile product squads. Your responsibilities will encompass ensuring the successful validation of JLR Powertrain Units & Systems by orchestrating the delivery of FEA analysis and virtual processes across the Powertrain domain.

An extensive background in technical project delivery, adeptness in individual and team mentorship, and a robust understanding of CAE techniques and processes, particularly pertaining to Electrified Propulsion Systems, will be pivotal to your success.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES**

In your role as the Durability CAE Chapter Lead, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of Powertrain design and analysis. Your responsibilities will include providing comprehensive mentorship, fostering skill development, and offering technical guidance to Chapter members. You will be at the forefront of program delivery, deploying Chapter members within an Agile framework to ensure seamless integration and effective support. Collaborating closely with Product Owners, you will assess the requisite resources and technical needs within Product Squads, particularly focusing on Energy Storage and Electrical commodities.

Fostering high performance and providing pastoral care to all Chapter members will be integral to your role. You will take the lead in facilitating the performance management of Chapter members, establishing effective development plans, and conducting ongoing performance improvement discussions.

**WHAT YOU’LL NEED**

Essential
- Ability to develop and mentor a group of Engineers with a clear vision to drive towards a unified set of objectives
- Experience in the delivery of complex CAE projects in an Automotive Engineering environment, including evidence of process improvement activities and execution of Quality Operating Systems
- Evidence of consistent and repeatable deployment of problem-solving techniques and virtual methods
- Deep understanding of mechanics of materials, statics and dynamics
- Experience of Fatigue, Strength, Abuse & Thermo-mechanical attribute assessments related to Powertrain durability, specifically in the field of Energy Storage & Electrical commodities
- Theoretical knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA), the associated toolsets (Abaqus, LS-Dyna, Hyperworks; Hypermesh etc.) and analysis delivery process
- Knowledge of Powertrain Energy Storage & Electrical commodity design principles and attributes
- Knowledge of programme delivery systems and lifecycles (e.g. PCDS framework)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to explain complex ideas confidently, reporting technical and business information across all levels in the organisation
- Good understanding of automotive industry, including competitor and market awareness
- Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent Degree or relevant equivalent experience
