**Job Overview**:
The Fleet Controller vacancy would suit an individual with a proactive mindset, a natural flair in multitasking along with high attention to detail applied in every task.

The Fleet Controller will be dedicated to supporting the operational performance of the department, coordinating the maintenance of vehicles and monitoring driver behavior to ensure compliance across the board, keeping the wheels turning and therefore our engineers working.

Ensuring organisation throughout the fleet department will be a crucial aspect of your role, as you monitor and maintain vital data within the fleet system, along with orchestrating reports and maintaining the fleet non-conformance register. In addition, ensuring that our fleet meets the needs of the business, ensuring that our transport operations are efficient, legally compliant and optimising the return on investment.

No two days will ever be the same.

This is a massive role based at our Snitterfield head office, in the spotlight and always on hand for our directors to fire a question at you.

**Responsibilities**:

- To maintain detailed records of vehicle servicing and inspection and scheduling vehicle maintenance to ensure operational efficiency and legal compliance.
- To utilise vehicle trackers and then identify and lead the investigation and discipline of drivers involved in accidents or demonstrating poor driver behaviour.
- To maintain licence checks and develop and lead programmes to monitor and improve driver behaviour and compliance; reducing accidents, collisions and penalty notices.
- To assist with all fleet insurance claims, coordinating the recording, investigation and repair of all damaged vehicles; ensuring costs are recovered where appropriate.
- To monitor fleet costs including use of fuel, purchasing of fuel and clean air charges, repairs and maintenance. Ensure accurate allocation of costs.
- Follow the process for vehicle breakdowns and callouts ensuring third parties are effective and stepping in during emergencies.
- Maintain Fleet Database in telematics software to ensure correct driver/department allocations.
- Monitor fleet utilisation to ensure we have the right balance of vehicles being used vs spares.
- Producing and distributing various reports - Fleet Dashboard, mileage reports, Depotnet Inspection Reports, Vehicle Usage Reports, Fleet Allocation Reports, Master Vehicle Lists etc.
- Analysing data produced from above reports plus fuel reports etc, flagging trends or problem areas, making recommendations.
- Ordering of new vehicles from rental suppliers when authorised, including off-hiring.
- Liasing with internal customers and other departments to understand their requirements, deal with any issues or problems and deliver an effective level of service.

**Skills & Experience**
- Previous experience in a similar role would be hugely advantageous.
- Good people skills - particularly experienced in relationship building, communicaing effectively, managing conflict and motivating individuals.
- Team working - able to build relationships with key stakeholders across the business and able to deliver in a collaborative manner.
- Excellent Organisational skills and attention to detail, high level of accuracy, ability to work under pressure and a passion to get it done.
- Excellent Excel Skills and an ability to analyse and interpret information
- Understanding of transport and logistics.
