Your future employer, a family run business for over 50 years and a leading property management company who manages several Business parks in Kent and into South-east London, is seeking a skilled and dedicated Handyman/ Maintenance Assistant with Ground working experience to join their team. You will play a crucial role in the successful completion of various construction and maintenance projects. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate and take pride in delivering high-quality workmanship.
You will be working in a team supported by a senior team member, and you will travel to sites in Sevenoaks or Sandwich to join the crew; Working in a busy, diverse environment you will be:
- Setting up site including barriers, safety signage and huts/ small work buildings.
- Carry out various construction tasks, including carpentry, plumbing, tiling, painting, and general repairs.
- Preparing the ground and foundations in preparation for other construction projects, and laying pavements, kerbs, and driveways.
- Operate and maintain construction machinery and tools.
- Conduct inspections and identify issues or defects, providing appropriate solutions.
- Handle basic landscaping and outdoor maintenance duties.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area.
As a Groundworker/Handyman/ Maintenance assistant you will have the following:
- Proven experience as a Groundworker or similar role in the construction or maintenance industry
- Happiness to travel to Sevenoaks on a daily basis, other sites in Sandwich, and Woolwich
- Proficient in operating construction machinery and tools such as Jack Hammer, Excavators and Dumpers
- Some knowledge of groundworks techniques and procedures
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
