This role is based Peterlee, working in a busy HR and Payroll department, supported by a small and experienced HR team.
Full time hours - Monday-Thursday 8am-4.30pm Friday 8am-3.30pm
Salary - Up to £34,000
Start date - January 2024
The main duties of the role will be:
- Oversight and management of monthly payroll and statutory payments for approximately 350 employees.
- Compilation of precise weekly and monthly standard reports.
- Full management of time and attendance system (Synel)
- Preparation and submission of payroll reports to an outsourced provider for accurate monthly payments.
- Professional handling of pay-related queries with a commitment to excellent customer service.
- Validation of supplied data pre and post payroll processing.
- Maintain payroll information and employee transactions as required for new starters, leavers, benefits, absence, allowances, year end shift adjustment, changes to terms and conditions, maternity, paternity and deductions. As well as calculation and monitoring of all Company and Statutory payments
Experience required:
- Essential to have end-to-end Payroll experience ideally with a minimum of 3-5 years in a Payroll/HR role.
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong numerical aptitude.
- Current knowledge of government legislation, including tax, national insurance, and a solid understanding of SSP, SMP, and SPP regulations and rates.
- Management and administration of 4 key HR systems; HR database (Cascade), Time and Attendance (Synel), Payroll (Cascade) and Performance & Compensation System (Halogen).
- Knowledge if the individual systems would be preferred but not essential.
This is a site-based role with the option to work from home 1-day per week. Full time hours. You will be working with an experienced and established HR team where you will be fully supported to understand the internal processes and systems. They are keen to allow a substantial handover so you will have up to 3 months working alongside the current Payroll Advisor, which highlights the importance of this role within the business.
