**Climate Skills Project Co-Ordinator**

**Pay band**: 6
**Salary**: Starting at £20,254 plus £3,300 for those based in the London area.

**The Team**:
This role sits within the Cultural Engagement (CE) Strategic Business Unit. CE brings together our portfolio of work in arts, education, English and research. Our portfolio is delivered through a set of globally led programmes that locates our work and impact within our strategic framework.

This role will work in a new team delivering the Climate Skills programme. This exciting new programme sits within our Non-Formal Education team and builds on a leading corporate and British Council’s long history of collaboration and delivery of skills programmes for young people at country and regional levels, to create an ambitious new global initiative. The programme will enable marginalised young people to gain skills to participate effectively in the just transition away from fossil fuels to greener economies.

The programme will launch in 2023 in Brazil, Mexico, Indonesia, India, Vietnam, with the UK and other countries piloting work. The programme will explore cross-disciplinary initiatives over 3 years, engaging with sectors across education, vocational training, and arts.

It will deliver quality climate literacy, English language, and skills programmes via local partners. Young people will be mobilised through youth-led grants funding, bursaries, internships and mentoring. The legacy and global reach of the programme will be boosted via a network of youth, employers and funders committing to just transition long-term.

**The Role**:
This is a fixed term role until February 2026.

This is an exciting opportunity to support a new multi-country programme focused on enabling young leaders and supporting local community organisations to access resources and build their capacity to be part of the needed just transition from fossil fuels.

You will work closely with the Senior Programme Manager based in the UK and be a core part of the global programme team delivering in Brazil, Mexico, India, Indonesia and Vietnam. You will support programme level processes, including financial administration supported by the Finance Lead based in Pakistan.

You will support the programme team in all areas of the implementation of the global programme and local projects in compliance with British Council policies and procedures. This includes administration, reporting and data collection, operational delivery and managing communications with delivery partners in education, skills training, and the arts.

This will include ad hoc marketing support, planning team and programme meetings, supporting procurement, contracting, payments and event delivery. This will give you strong experience in project management processes. You will also support on specific programme activities as required and identified to support your own professional development and interests.

This role is great for you if you have existing administrative experience, and a keen interest in practical action on climate change adaptation and resilience, and how to build the just transition away from fossil fuels at a local and global level. You will develop skills in partnership management, global team working, co-design and delivery of inclusive programmes.
