CNC Operator & Setter

About The Role:
We have an exciting opportunity for a CNC Operator & Setter to join our friendly, dynamic, and progressive team.

As a CNC Operator & Setter, you will be responsible for operating the CNC Mills and the CNC Lathe machines. You will be machining to tight tolerances with various types of metals, including Steel, Brass, Aluminium, and Stainless Steel.

**Responsibilities**:
As a Skilled CNC Operator, you will:

- Use tools cost-effectively.
- Operating CNC Mills.
- Operating CNC Lathes.
- Save and store programs/step files onto the shared server.
- Check that the supplied material matches the provided drawing.
- Read and understand the traveller provided for relevant instructions.
- Load raw material onto the machines and run manufacture.
- Any mistakes identified on the traveller must be noted on the traveller with a red pen, signed, and dated.
- Sign and date the quantity produced.
- Clock off the job on the computer provided.
- Inspect each part of the drawing before progressing to the next operation.
- Make sure that the finished products are suitably protected for transportation.
- Mark any unused material with the GRN Number and return it to the rack.
- If unsure about any procedures, ask your Line Manager.
- Should your machine/tool break down during your shift, inform your Line Manager. Please do not attempt to amend the machine/tool on your own.
- Any damaged tools need to be disposed of in accordance with the company policies.
- Raise internal NCRs when necessary.
- Participate in problem-solving.
- Keep your work area tidy and safe in accordance with the company policies.
- Clean your work area 15 minutes before the end of your shift.
- Support with the training of new staff and/or apprentices.

Desired skills and experience:

- Able to correctly interpret engineering drawings and written/verbal instructions.
- Able to accurately use a variety of measuring and inspection equipment.
- A positive and can-do attitude, capable of contributing significantly as part of the production team.
