**About the role**:
You will be expected to demonstrate understanding of safeguarding issues and the ability to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people/vulnerable adults in the area of Bedford

Hours of work **:Full-time up to 37.5 hours per week, between Monday to Friday Core hours are from 9am - 5pm; but negotiable according to needs**

**Rates Negotiable**

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Managing a complex caseload involving child protection issues
- Working within a safeguarding environment or within a role that requires significant involvement in safeguarding processes.
- Significant experience in developing and/or delivering training
- Contribution to local Multi agency groups, system, and networks
- Work being informed by current research findings and evidence-based practice in safeguarding children

**Skills Needed**:

- Sound knowledge of the principles underpinning safeguarding practice - the national and local safeguarding agenda, relevant policy, procedures and practice legislation developments
- Specialist knowledge of the Children Act 1989 and 2004; Working Together to Safeguard Children 2018; Information sharing guidance for practitioners and managers and other relevant Government and National Guidance Government
- Knowledge of the principles underpinning effective safeguarding practice
- Knowledge of current research findings and evidence-based practice in safeguarding children

**What you will need to succeed**:

- Professional registration as a Registered Nurse
- SCPHN or Social Worker
- Enhanced DBS required
