Healthcare Assistant

Greenstaff Medical is looking for Healthcare assistants and for temporary placements for Care Packages in Newcastle to provide support to service users, in line with care plans for children and adolescence with learning difficulties, complex care or mental health needs.
Earn up to £35 per hour
**Key requirements**:
- Right to work in the UK
- Proof of vaccinations/immunity
- DBS Check/Update Service Check
- Proof of Mandatory training aligned to the Skills for Health UK CSTF standards
- 2 x Clinical references
- PMVA trained
- Children and Adolescence experience
- Care and Management of Enteral Devices Including Enteral Feeding experience
- Spinal Injury experience
- Tracheostomy Care experience
- Stoma Care experience
- Epilepsy and Epilepsy Related Seizures experience
- Invasive and Non-Invasive Ventilation experience
- Palliative Care experience
- Acquired Brain Injuries experience
- End-of-life Care experience
**Desirable but not essential**:
- A full driving license, have access to transport and insurance for business use
- Training certificates required
- Pediatric Tracheostomy
- CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow and Cough Assist
- PEG/Button Feeding
- Invasive or Non-Invasive (BI PAP/CPAP) ventilation
- IV Long Line Access Via PICC
- Spinal Injury
- Autonomic Dysreflexia
- Supra Pubic Catheter
- Oxygen Therapy
- Epilepsy and Seizure Management including the administration of rescue medication.
**Main responsibilities include but are not limited to**:
- Providing emotional support to individuals and their families
- Providing practical support for individuals and their families, such as helping with household tasks, personal care and paperwork
- Supporting and monitoring their healthcare needs, including administering medication
- Maintaining a safe and clean environment for the service users
- Safeguarding service users and reporting any concerns
- Record keeping, including support plans, incident logs and health and safety records.
- Able to work flexible shifts patterns which may include days, nights and weekends
