As a Fleet Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring our delivery vehicles are available, in the right place, in a safe and legal condition when our Online & Home Delivery operations need to use them. The role will manage the in-house Fleet admin team(x3 Band B), oversee the Iceland Fleet function, and focus on ensuring: Fleet administration functions operate as planned, sufficient vans are available in the correct locations and stores comply with Fleet related processes & policies.

As the Fleet Manager, you will:

- Manage the Fleet Administration team & the processes they own. Refining and improving these processes as business requirements change.
- Administer the Fleet Database & work with Reporting/Analytics teams to ensure fleet reports are timely and accurate.
- Oversee the Iceland Fleet (VMS) function in Deeside, ensuring processes/activities conducted by them on Iceland’s behalf are completed on time & accurately.
- Support with the resolution of queries raised by Stores, DSS & Area Managers around fleet related processes/issues or VMS service.
- Work with VMS (Iceland Fleet) to plan and administer fleet requirements (vans per area) to ensure stores have sufficient vans to operate.
- Work with the wider Digital Operations team to manage the administration of fleet reallocation linked to Network Strategy or outputs from the Trakm8 Insights project.
- Support with reporting on Fleet related costs including; fuel used, fines received, van damage.
- Ensure the Fleet related process documentation and training materials are up to date and available to stores.
- Join periodic meetings with VMS to review performance levels and forward plans.
- Support with the administration & implementation of Fleet related projects/rollouts.
- Stand in for Equipment Manager during periods of holiday/absence/sickness.
- Communicate effectively & concisely to ensure team members and other stakeholders are clear on operational status, actions and plans.
- Take ownership of implementing business decisions and effectively and proactively communicate them to the team.
- Regularly check that internal stakeholders are satisfied, challenging own performance where appropriate and actively seek feedback on their approach.
- Support the team to work at their best by coaching, providing feedback, problem solving, sharing best practice and communicating with pace and urgency
- Effectively influence internal and external stakeholders to deliver results
