**About Us**:
Healthy Minds and RIC (Reducing Inequalities in Communities) have a vision: to provide the best support possible, that is easily accessible and available for children and young people across the Bradford District.

To help us achieve this and ensure we understand the expressed needs of children and young people across the Bradford & Craven district, we are looking to recruit six young trainees to work alongside our health and care partnership to ensure the voices of young people are heard, supported, and understood, and that services listen so their needs are met.

**Roles & Responsibilities**
- Act responsibly and maturely as a role model and ambassador, raising awareness about mental health, by helping and encouraging active participation and involvement of other young people.
- Be able to work face to face and remotely.
- Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI), equity, kindness, compassion & understanding (KCU)
- Support and develop youth & community work across the district’s diverse communities.
- Be a voice and advocate for children and young people (CYP) physical & mental health, special education needs and learning disabilities by attending CYP board meetings, focus groups, peer to peer groups: deliberating and influencing decision makers on how best to support children and young people.
- Work in partnership and collaboration with partners and key stakeholders across the district who support young people, this includes working as part of a team with your peers and colleagues.
- Be confident, assertive, and creative - to help young people across the district express themselves.
- Engage with schools, community centres, community projects, organisations and agencies across the district who support young people's personal, social, and educational development.
- Develop and deliver campaigns, programmes and events of public health messages that support and educate young people on issues which impact their lives i.e. bullying, mental health awareness, cultural awareness, and other issues relevant and current to young people.
- Keep a creative blog of your experiences and contribute towards website and social media stories.

**Additional and Miscellaneous**

In addition to the duties listed here, the post holder is required to perform other duties, which are assigned from time to time. However, such other duties will be reasonable in relation to the individual’s skills, abilities, and grade, and include out of hours or weekend working; for example, community action, attending festivals and events representing the Healthy Minds team.

You will be allocated a line-manager and a team of mentors from our organisation, and who will be responsible for your daily scheduling, they will also offer continuous support throughout your employment.

As part of the All-Star team, you will have the opportunity to:

- Learn key skills in project managing, designing, adapting, planning, budgeting, and delivering projects.
- Develop your knowledge, skills and understanding of the sector by undertaking additional off the job training and placements with specialist wellbeing organisations.
- Be a positive role model in your area - meet interesting and diverse people in the community, engaging with young people, schools, colleges, mental health services and commissioners across the district

**Requirements for the post**:
No previous experience is required for this role as training will be provided, what we do ask is that you have a passion and interest in supporting your community and contributing to improving the lives of children & young people across the Bradford district & Craven.
- Live in the Bradford or surrounding areas.
- Be aged between 16-24 years of age.
- Have a keen interest in the mental health, physical health, and wellbeing sector.
- Be enthusiastic, punctual, confident, friendly, and reliable with good communication skills.
- Be prepared to work hard, study and attend meetings and events out of hours.

**Desirable, but non-essential**:

- Lived or applied experience of mental health and wellbeing.
- Live in Bradford postcodes BD1, BD2, BD3,BD5, BD7, BD8 and/or BD9.
