We are responsible for the entire range of children’s education, health and social care services in all three boroughs. We use a Signs of Safety practice model and approach which ensures the voice of the child is at the heart of everything we do. The role will provide independent oversight and expertise to the management board, particularly in regard to effective partnership working and oversight of delivery plans and performance. The role will support the development of a youth advisory board, ensuring that participation is a strength of the board and that the voice of young people informs the strategic vision and planning for the service.

About the role

The role will provide consultation and coaching to the Youth Justice Management team and board members, through 1:1 consultation, visioning events and workshops. Also at times of new national policies and frameworks that impact the Youth Justice Service.

You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to deliver this role and maintain relationships across a range of stakeholders and partners.

About you

You will have:

- Significant experience chairing strategic boards or complex partnership meetings
- Strong knowledge of the Youth Justice landscape, expectations of the Youth
- Justice Board in regard to multi agency partnership and of HMIP inspection framework
- Experience of managing opposing views and competing demands within a landscape of efficiency and continual improvement
- Experience of user-voice led initiatives and an ability to work with young people within a strategic setting.
- Experience of addressing specific equality or diversity issues within your practice with colleagues/service users and taking action to solve them.
