Walton Street Cycles is Oxfordshire’s oldest bicycle shop, we are proud of our heritage and work hard to ensure our team is trained with all the latest technology. We offer much more than a traditional bike shop. We repair, we sell, we hire, and we also run popular tourist day tours and excursions, we even have long term cycle touring holidays through the Cotswolds.

In addition to our fleet of bikes available for rent in store we also have a fleet of around 700 hire bikes located around Southern England.

Unlike most bike shops you will find we run a small close-knit team who get involved in all aspects of the business.
- Walton Street Cycles is seeking a dedicated, friendly, organised, and hardworking individual to join our team. _
- The role is very varied and will require a good team player who is also capable of working on their own initiative. _
- The role will be based in our busy shop on the front counter. You will be the first port of call for customers visiting or contacting the shop and will always be expected to be helpful and courteous. We take pride in spending time to understand each of our customers’ requirements and making sure they leave the shop with the best solution, whether that be a new bike, accessory, or advice. _
- Overall, we specialise in all types of bikes and cycling and we get to see all of the latest product on the market as well as very early technology. _
- Our current new bike brands include; Brompton, Scott, Steed, Pashley, Kona, Gazelle, Dawes, Claud Butler, Roland, Squish & PUKY. _

**Day-to-day responsibilities**
- Shop_

Ø _Helping customers with all general enquiries, including;_
- _New & Used bike sales _
- _Accessory sales_
- _Assessing and booking in workshop repairs_
- _Booking in repairs_
- _Booking & renting hire bikes _
- _Booking & helping tours leave _

Ø _Cash handling _

Ø _Ensuring shop display is stocked and presentable _

Ø _Maintaining awareness of current product technology _

Ø _Assisting shop manager with ordering for shop _

Ø _Managing accessory stock levels_

Ø _Ensuring new bike stock levels maintained_

Ø _Opening and closing _

Ø _Assisting with development of an apprentice to and help run the shop front, it will be your responsibility to oversee their development. _

Ø _Updating social media posts for shop related things _

Ø _Window display refreshed regularly _

Ø _Meeting specific targets - these will be based on revenue and marketing targets_

Ø _Full time, Sunday 10:00 - 16:00, Monday to Thursday 08:45 - 17:30 _
- _Start time slightly earlier than opening times in the week to help prep for day _

Ø _Holiday entitlement is 28 days calculated pro-rata on full pay per annum. We are open on bank holidays and anytime off will need to be booked in advance._

**Salary**: £20,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
