**Job description**

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent Vetting Assistant within the Vetting Unit, in Professional Standards.

The successful applicant will join a highly skilled and well-motivated team, who will process and administer various levels of vetting clearance for Norfolk and Suffolk Constabularies through research and enquiries in accordance with the College of Policing Approved Professional Practice for Vetting and Code of Practice.

1. Demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to manage sensitive conversations
2. Ability to undertake research using various systems
3. Ability to undertake analysis and evaluation of information
4. Experience of accurate record keeping and ability to maintain data quality
5. Experience of documenting decision making and rationale for outcomes
6. Good organisational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
7. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

**It is desirable that applicants meet the following criteria:

1. Demonstrate an understanding of vetting procedures as detailed in the College of Policing Approved Professional Practice
2. Have experience of working with confidential and sensitive information
3. Demonstrate and understanding of the National Decision-Making Model
