Main duties of the job

The role will include, but is not limited to;
Working closely with procurement to order and maintain stock levels.

Managing the store rooms, staff and patient areas/facilities and ensuring a clean and tidy environment is maintained.

Ward logistics e.g., helping move beds and clearing/cleaning bed spaces.

Equipment/environment maintenance - liaising with estates/MESU ensuring all medical and non-medical devices and the ward environment are in a good state of repair and yearly PAT testing is undertaken.

Answering telephone calls and signposting if/when appropriate.

General receptionist and clerical duties if/when required.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Maintaining a clean and tidy environment (storerooms, clinical rooms, sluice, staff room and all patient areas.

To keep the clinic room/sluice stocked with equipment / materials. To assist with the stores.

To collect from pharmacy and other departments when required.

Training & Qualifications

Essential criteria
- GCSE English and maths grades A - C or equivalent

Experience

Essential criteria
- Previous experience in dealing with customers, patients or clients within the healthcare setting.

Desirable criteria
- Works/has previously worked for NUH
- Experience working in a hospital setting
- Previous experience in domestic services

Communication & Relationship Skills

Essential criteria
- Demonstrates effective verbal & written communication skills
- Demonstrates ability to work flexibly & under pressure
- Demonstrates effective lone working and ability to work within a team
- Demonstrates basic IT skills

Desirable criteria
- Demonstrates computer literacy - experience working with outlook, word, excel, power point etc.

Analytical and Judgement skills

Essential criteria
- Proactive and enthusiastic approach to work
- Strives to maintain a clean and tidy environment

**Salary**: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
