- An exciting and unique opportunity has arisen for the role of Force Drugs Coordinator.
- The purpose of the role is to co-ordinate Force-wide drugs activity to assist with the prevention and disruption of organised criminality. This requires a consistent approach through dissemination of best practice in accordance with National guidelines.
- The key responsibilities of the role are as follows:
- To manage a small team of IDOs/Researchers, co-ordinating the Force's response to fast parcels and the management of controlled drugs.
- To represent the Force at internal and external meetings, providing an overview of current drug trends and advice on a 4 P response.
- To deliver training and awareness sessions within Force and to partners to promote and improve intelligence collection and investigations around drugs/county lines type criminality.
- To identify intelligence gaps and work towards promoting and answering intelligence requirements.
- To support the County Lines Coordination Team in improving the Force response to county lines criminality.
- To Identify and raise awareness of new drug trends through communication with Police colleagues and partners.
- To identify, develop and disseminate best practice surrounding disruption of drug crime and organised criminality.
- To liaise with Corporate Communications around drug awareness campaigns and other materials to improve awareness and intelligence collection.
- To co-ordinate a response for FOI and press office requests.

The successful applicant will have some knowledge of drug trends, organised criminality, and investigations. To represent the Force at a strategic level, applicants will also be professional and approachable, be able to support colleagues in their development as well as continue positive relationships with partners.
- The role is based within Force Intelligence at Carr Gate, but applicants must be prepared to travel around the Force area. The ability to use own vehicle for work purposes would be an advantage.The post is suitable for job share.
