Carmarthen, United Kingdom Hywel Dda University Health Board Full time

Hywel Dda University Health Board is located in West Wales in an area of outstanding beauty. It covers the National Park coastline and rolling hills of rural Pembrokeshire. The area consists of hamlets, villages, market towns as well as some larger towns. It is an ideal place to live and work. This is an exciting opportunity in which you will join an experienced multi-disciplinary team of practitioners and therapists.

The role is to provide High intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
Clinically, the postholder will work autonomously, within professional guidelines and the overall framework of service policies, procedures and strategic objectives. The postholder will make decisions relating to clinical risk and treatment plans based on complex factors, involving the evaluation of a range of options and formulating and planning complex interventions and treatment programs.

As a service we offer monthly supervision from a Senior Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist, as well as peer support and continuing professional activities to aid with professional development. You will be part of the psychological therapies team and therefore have access to other multi-modularity therapists.

We are seeking a BABCP accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (Band 7) to work within our Integrated Psychological Therapies Service in Carmarthen. The role will be split between clinical supervision and training, with the time spent on each area dictated by the needs of the service. The clinical element will involve High Intensity CBT for people with moderate and severe mental health problems.

The post holder will be required to provide clinical supervision for practitioners undertaking formal certificate and diploma training in CBT as well as staff teams providing Low Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Interventions and psycho-social group interventions.

Substantial experience of working with people with serious mental health problems is required.

This is a full time role, however, we are happy to explore the option of part time or a job share. This is an exciting opportunity for a CBT Therapist to provide a valued role within our expanding services.
