You will join an experienced multi-disciplinary team of practitioners and therapists including Psychotherapists, Psychologists; Psychiatrist; Nurses and Occupational Therapists. You will be a valued member of the Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) Team based within the wider Psychological Therapies Team.

Your role will be to provide specialised cognitive behavioural psychotherapy within S-CAMHS, as well as providing consultation, training and supervision regarding cognitive behavioural practice.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

The post holder will be an accredited CBT Psychotherapist who will provide effective, efficient, and comprehensive CBT and specialist assessments and interventions for young people within SCAMHS. We will consider those nearing accreditation with the BABCP under annex 21 arrangements and for those looking to obtain accreditation with the timeframes outlined (please see below for further information).

To be a member of a multi-disciplinary team providing assessment, formulation and therapeutic intervention for a wide range of emotional and mental difficulties affecting young people, and their families and carers. This may involve individual, group and family and intervention with the systems around the young person.

Supervision and Training; Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
The post holder will provide supervision, consultation and training in CBT-based interventions for practitioners, providing both individual and group low Intensity interventions in S-CAMHS in line with service needs and supervision structures within the team.

Provide comprehensive CBT and Specialist assessments and interventions for young people who are accessing therapy within S-CAMHS in line with the Matric Plant and NICE Guidelines.

Hywel Dda University Health Board is the planner and provider of NHS healthcare services for people in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and its bordering counties. Our 11,000 members of staff provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services for around 384,000 people across a quarter of the landmass of Wales. We do this in partnership with our three local authorities and public, private and third sector colleagues, including our volunteers, through:

- Four main hospitals: Bronglais General in Aberystwyth, Glangwili General in Carmarthen, Prince Philip in Llanelli and Withybush General in Haverfordwest;
- Seven community hospitals: Amman Valley and Llandovery in Carmarthenshire; Tregaron, Aberaeron and Cardigan in Ceredigion; and Tenby and South Pembrokeshire Hospital Health and Social Care Resource Centre in Pembrokeshire;
- 48 general practices (four of which are managed practices), 47 dental practices (including three orthodontic), 99 community pharmacies, 44 general ophthalmic practices (43 providing Eye Health Examination Wales and 34 low vision services) and 17 domiciliary only providers and 11 health centres;
- Numerous locations providing mental health and learning disabilities services;
- Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.

As a service we offer monthly supervision from a Senior Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist, as well as peer support and continuing professional activities to aid with professional development. You will be part of the psychological therapies team and therefore have access to other multi-modularity therapists and exciting development opportunities.

This means they will be supported by a development plan. During the first year payment will be 70% of the top rate of band 7 pay, and the second year 75%. Following gaining accreditation with the BABCP the post holder will then be paid at Band 7 (minimum point on the scale). Support (development and training) and supervision will be provided in order to develop the successful applicant to the Band 7 role. Failure to achieve the qualification in the designated timeframe could result in re-deployment.

Successful applicants on any lower band however will not be financially disadvantaged from their current salary.
