My client a leading manufacturing company based in Leeds, are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join their already established yet small team.

Your technical skills will be complemented by first class interpersonal skills. You will excel at communicating with clients in a friendly and approachable way, with a view to building long-standing relationships.

Duties of Bookkeeper:

- Daily usage of financial processes, enhancing and improving where necessary
- Balancing of accounts on a day to day basis
- Liaising with the Directors, clients, suppliers and banking
- Booking in of supplier invoices, checking and disputing where necessary
- Processing invoices and checking and disputing where necessary
- Ensuring monies owed is received on time, expediting overdue accounts
- Submission of documents as required by law and government agencies
- Submitting financial reports to head office including monthly and weekly
- Preparation of profit and loss accounts and basic monthly reporting
- Payroll, Tax, NI and Pensions
- Auditing, in collaboration with external accountants
- Preparation of VAT and other returns
- Credit checking for existing and potential new accounts
- Stock cost/level reviews
- Allocate Purchase/ Sales ledger to relevant accounts

Skills and experience
- Minimum 5 years Accounts experience
- Being able to prioritise tasks based on importance and urgency
- Proactive approach
- Good attention to detail
- Excellent time management
- Good IT skills and confidence in using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Highly organised
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Strong communication
- Team skills
- Flexibility
