Technicians provide a high standard of technical and learning support in order to maintain a well prepared and realistic working environment. This role will be essential to the effective delivery of study programmes to young people and qualifications to adults.

The School of Arts at Royal Leamington Spa College is home to two well-equipped furniture and 3D design workshops, incorporating a range of industry standard tools and machines that are used by both Further Education and leisure course students.

Our Royal Leamington Spa campus delivers various specialisms from Hair & Beauty to Games Art & Design. As well as these courses we also have an onsite Bistro where some of our students complete their catering courses. We offer a broad range of career opportunities including teaching and support roles.

**Essential Attainments**:

- Experience of dealing with customers is essential.
- Experience of working with students, apprentices or young people.
- A willingness to learn and undergo training with regards to apprenticeships within Engineering.
- Significant administrative experience, with experience of using a range of IT packages.
- A driving licence free of major endorsements and/or the ability to travel within the College’s recruitment area.
- Experience of mentoring or coaching.
- GCSE Grade C in English and Maths or equivalent. Applicants willing to achieve within the first 9 months will be considered.

**Desirable Attainments**:

- Vocational experience of working in industry.
- Experience of working with Awarding Bodies and knowledge of their systems and paperwork.
- Experience of reviewing learners.
- Experience of working with outside agencies and organisations.
- Evidence of formal structured training e.g. an apprenticeship.

**Essential Skills and Knowledge**:

- Demonstrable ability to liaise effectively with internal and external agencies.
- Excellent administrative and organisational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, apprentices and external parties and demonstrating excellent customer care.
- Ability to motivate others.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- A flexible, enthusiastic and proactive approach.
- Ability to adopt a customer-care approach.
- Ability to manage own workload and meet deadlines.
- Ability to demonstrate an understanding and knowledge of Equality and Diversity.
- Ability to demonstrate an understanding and knowledge of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults.
- Ability to demonstrate behaviours which support the Core Values of the College.
