About the job
You will supervise operations shifts and ensure safety, production & quality is effectively delivered.
You will provide the teams with good leadership, aligned to relevant KPI's.
Your most important tasks will be:
- Responsible for the Health and Safety of those directly responsible to you (and your own). You must ensure that at all times the correct PPE is worn.
- Safe operating of the Subcoal TSP production plant through implementing the relevant controls and procedure to safeguard colleagues, equipment and the quality of the product manufactured.
- Managing activities with relevant Risk Assessment & Method Statements (RAMS).
- Robust knowledge of the plant emergency procedures and fire alarm systems.
- Overall responsibility for ensuring your team attend start of shift briefings and communication of TBT.
- Assess and ensure compliance of all team members skills & competence vs the critical skills matrix.
- Ensure the shift team is utilized across the production facility in line with the relevant skills & competencies whilst upholding safety & quality standards.
- Lead the achievement of production & PPM KPI’s through clearly communicated safe and structured objectives.
- Responsible for the quality inspections of incoming feedstock.
- Responsible for raising non-conformance reports as required for incoming feedstock and communication to Production & Quality Manager and commercial team.
- Responsible for quality sampling of product throughout the process, raising QAR codes and recording in relevant documents for analysis.
- Ensure there are sufficiently trained Fire Wardens within the shift and appointed during operations.

- you have proven advanced plant knowledge of associated fixed plant / systems and RAMS.
- you are an excellent communicator, both written and verbal.
- you are confident and able to make decisions in the absence of other leaders.
- you are literate, able to analyse data and produce detailed reports.
- you are highly organised and able to plan and prioritize workloads including contractors.
- you are able to lead and motivate others.
- you have an analytical approach to problem solving.
- you are able to make a good fault finding and troubleshooting.
- ability to work on own initiative or part of a team.
- you possess conflict resolution skills, proven management skills and you can manage change.
