Southampton, United Kingdom Redroofs Day Nursery & Preschool Full time

Redroofs Day Nursery & Preschool are seeking a Nursery Cook who is passionate about cooking and working as part of a team in this important role within the setting. You will be responsible for preparing and cooking food for all children across the nursery using our 4 week rolling menu. If you have good home cooking skills and are organised, this may be the job for you, as professional cooking skills are not essential.

To prepare and cook nutritionally balanced lunches and prepare tea for our under 5’s in accordance with the nursery’s menu.

To work closely with management in contributing ideas for the menu development, adhering to the ‘home cooked’ food ethos and ensuring the children receive a healthy nutritionally balanced diet.

Ensure children’s specific dietary requirements are met.

To maintain high standards of hygiene and a safe, clean, and healthy kitchen environment.

Adhere to food hygiene policies, standard operating processes and ensure all health & safety and environmental health requirements are met.

Manage the weekly food ordering and stock rotation/control.

**Desirable Skills/Qualifications**:
Food Hygiene qualifications are desirable but not essential as training will be given
