**Senior Business Analyst**

A Senior Business Analyst is required by a major University who are one of the great centres of research, knowledge and innovation. Their pioneering reputation as a Russell Group University attracts students, experts and partners from around the world.
The Senior Business Analyst will take full responsibility for business analysis on complex IT-related change projects.

The University offer an amazing pension scheme contributing in excess of 20% as well as a 35 hour working week and a great holiday allowance in excess of 30 days.

Reporting to the Head of Business Improvement and for specific projects, a project or programme manager, senior business analysts play a key role in the successful implementation of IT-related business change and in influencing long-term strategic decision-making,resource and budget planning.

This is an amazing opportunity to join IT Services, as they embark upon a new strategy to deliver a new TOM, which will result in the delivery of a number of significant digital & technology initiatives. This new model will result in huge investment withinboth IT Services, and the department itself, as they move to a modern, collaborative working space.

**KEY DUTIES**:

- Plan and lead the business analysis phase of projects or programmes
- Take responsibility for the production of business cases for complex business problems and IT-related opportunities, undertaking cost benefit analysis and identifying risks
- Conduct feasibility studies, impact assessments and options appraisals for complex, cross-institutional business problems and IT-related opportunities
- Lead the analysis activities required for 3rd party invitations to tender, taking full responsibility for production and sign-off of functional and non-functional requirements, liaising with Procurement, suppliers and senior stakeholders, playing an activepart in the evaluation and selection of suppliers and engaging with technical leads and other stakeholders in the implementation phase
- Liaise with the Information Security Officer and IT security specialists to identify when supplier security questionnaires need to be completed and work with stakeholders, project sponsors and 3rd parties to ensure their completion when required.
- Assess and scope business problems and IT-related opportunities of varying complexity
- Take full responsibility for the elicitation, documentation, prioritisation, validation and sign-off of business requirements and acceptance criteria Work with stakeholders to analyse and model business processes, data flows, systems and system integrations
- Plan, manage and facilitate workshops, meetings, interviews and focus groups
- Develop user acceptance testing scenarios based on business requirements and acceptance criteria and support or lead user acceptance testing activities
- Set up and lead cross institutional stakeholder groups including senior managers, academic leads, team leaders, technical staff, students and other academic or professional service staff
