Speech & Language Therapist - Community Adult

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join the Community Adult Speech and Language Therapy team in North-East Essex.

We have community offices in Colchester and Clacton, clinic bases at the PCC and Clacton Hospital and also support home working.
You will be a confident and enthusiastic graduate or NQP who can demonstrate a variety of different skills and is keen to develop their knowledge and experience working with adults in the community.
You will manage your own varied caseload of adults with conditions including neurodegenerative diseases, dementia, brain injury and voice disorders. You will work with a range of disorders including with dysphagia, aphasia, dysarthria, cognitive communication difficulties and dysfluency. You will also provide support around alternative and augmentative communication, and provide training and support to patients, families and carers.
You will be working in a range of settings including patient’s own homes, nursing and residential homes, in clinic and with inpatients at our Community Hospitals.
You will be able to work closely with other relevant professionals, including dietetics, the neuro-rehabilitation and community rehabilitation teams, community nursing, and colleagues in the acute Speech and Language Therapy team in Colchester Hospital.
You will be very well supported with regular peer and personal supervision and supported in completing your dysphagia training and NQP competencies. You will be encouraged to attend relevant Clinical Excellence Networks and other training to further develop your specialist knowledge
