Working to facilitate the optimisation and safe running of plant and equipment and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all staff, visitors, members of the public around all areas of operation by LKAB Minerals and LKAB.

**Role Description**
- Adherence to local and government legislation and LKAB company policy on health and safety;
- Take part in and adhere to risk assessments and safe systems of work, ensuring identified control measures are followed
- Ensures adherence to and compliance with, both company standards and those of the 9001, 14001 and 18001 company accreditations
- Responsible for the day to day operation of equipment as designated to ensure the safe and efficient operation of that Works.
- To operate the plant in order to deliver optimum productivity, efficiency, quality and performance to required standards.
- Maintain housekeeping standards and routine inspections are carried out across the area of responsibility.
- Responsible for working efficiently, in accordance with planning and execute orders in a timely and efficient manner.
- Interacts daily with Operations, Commercial, Sales and fellow staff to learn and share knowledge of the plant operations to improve overall performance and to ensure service to customer
- Play active role in OpEx to improve efficiency within the business unit.
- Takes part in training for all personnel as needed by both LKAB Minerals Ltd and legal requirement.
- Closely monitors quality of raw materials and finished products and all testing Involvement within the Operational Efficiency programme - 5s, Autonomous and Preventative Maintenance Systems and maintaining the efficiency and continual improvement of the systems.
- Reports all damage and monitors waste tipped and reports data to Assistant Works Management
- Undertake reasonable tasks as allocated by the company in addition to those defined
- To operate plant in an environmentally responsible manner and comply with company procedures and statutory regulations.
- Run equipment in the manner trained, to the most safe, environmental and efficient means possible as directed by Supervisory and Management staff

**General duties involve**:
Operation of fixed plant equipment; screening, milling, layering, mixers. Operation of forklift truck, overhead crane (pending training), loading shovel (Pending training), manual handling tasks, running quality checks, safety inspections, autonomous maintenance tasks and plant clean downs.

The above is not an exhaustive list and may change to suit the needs of the business.

**Desirables**:
FLT, Overhead crane hoist licenses, loading shovel license, previous experience working in a plant processing/quality control environment.

**Working Hours**:
40 hours per week Mon to Fri with 30 minute unpaid lunch. Normal hours either 6am-2:30pm, or 8am-4:30pm.

**Salary**: £12.31 per hour
