Shifts include unsocial hours, including weekend working and twilight shifts. Practitioners will be expected to work across both UTC and EPCH as required

St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking experienced Emergency Practitioners from either a nursing, paramedic or physiotherapy background. We are looking for qualified Emergency Practitioners with existing experience looking for a new challenge in a new department managing patients with minor injuries and minor health.

The Emergency Department sees over 150, 000 patients a year and benefits from an 8 bedded resuscitation area, large Children’s Emergency Department as well as the newly built Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC). The job role offers opportunity to also work across site at the Enhanced Primary Care Hub (EPCH) in Roehampton. This is a dedicated practitioner-led unit utilising an appointment-based service for patients with minor injuries and illness.

The Emergency Practitioner team has the opportunity for high levels of clinical support that can facilitate extending scopes of practice and development of advanced procedural skills. Practitioner development is supported by a work-based learning programme with opportunity to work towards the Emergency Care Advanced Clinical Practitioner Curriculum. We offer ongoing development opportunities in a range of areas including MSc programmes and non-medical prescribing. The Urgent Treatment Centre takes advantage of learning from GP and Emergency Medicine colleagues.
