We are looking for a part -time HCA with excellent communication and clinical skills to join our friendly and supportive GP surgery team.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate experienced GP Healthcare Assistant to join our team. Please note this is a GP setting Healthcare assistant with the proven & required skills, with experience within a GP Setting.

Fairlands practice are looking to welcome a qualified HCA into our busy practice, to support our nursing team. Working under the direction of the lead nurse and as part of the practice multi-disciplinary team, the post-holder will be responsible for performing tasks to include:

- Assist general practitioners in providing high-quality patient care.
- Conduct preliminary patient assessments, including vital signs measurement and medical history documentation.
- Phlebotomy activities
- Foot checks
- Diabetes reviews
- Blood pressure checks
- Administer injections (including Flu) and assist with wound care.
- Manage patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Provide excellent customer service and support to patients and their families.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care delivery.
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to infection control protocols.

Requirements: - Certification or relevant training as a GP based Healthcare Assistant. - Previous experience in a similar role within a GP practice or healthcare setting. With ability to use EMIS Web (desired) - Strong communication and interpersonal skills. - Empathy and compassion for patients' needs and concerns. - Ability to work well under pressure and prioritise tasks efficiently. - Proficient computer skills for accurate record-keeping.

Please note that you will be required to undergo a DBS check and you may need to work at two sites as needed, as The Fairlands Practice has 2 surgeries (Fairlands Avenue) and another surgery a few minutes car drive away (Glaziers Lane, Normandy). The Fairlands Practice provides general medical services to around 13,000 registered patients.
