Senior Therapeutic Parent Residential

**Higher Hopes Ltd specialises in providing the best therapeutic care and support for children and young people who have experienced trauma, abuse, CSE and neglect.**
We are an expanding company and are in a position to welcome Senior Therapeutic Parents to join our team based in a rural, 5 bedded, all girls residential home.
Our aim is to create a homely, therapeutic environment that exceeds the needs of the young people who live with us, enabling them to feel safe, express themselves and grow socially and emotionally.
By joining our team as a Senior member of staff you will be working closely with the young people in our care, the management team and external professionals to provide a service this is in the best interest of each resident.
**Main role and responsibilities**:
- To give support and guidance to the young people
- Provide a safe and nurturing home in which the children can grow emotionally and socially
- Safeguard each young resident, identify concerns and report them effectively
- Use Positive Behaviour Support Plans to understand the needs of the young person and what their strengths and goals are
- Implement and maintain clear and consistent boundaries
- Play an active part in everyday life including household duties, school runs, health appointments, contact visits and extracurricular activities
- To be a role model to children, young people and staff providing leadership on a day to day, Shift by shift basis supported by the Registered Manager
- Ensure all needs of the home are met and staff receive ongoing support and training
**Person Specification**:
- Have an in-depth understanding of safeguarding and challenging behaviours
- Organised and motivated, with a genuine passion for supporting young people
- A willingness to go the extra mile
- Ability to remain calm and positive under pressure
- To positively engage and provide supervision, team meetings and reflective practice in and outside the shift pattern to stay resilient, refreshed and competent in your role
- A flexible approach to meet the needs of the home
- To be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- To fulfil all aspects of your role in line with our policies and procedures positively and with a ‘can do’ attitude
**Essential Criteria**:
- **Hold a Full UK Driving Licence**:
- **QCF Level 3 in Children’s Residential Care or equivalent**:
- **2 years’ experience of working with vulnerable children and young people**

- Provide effective training from induction through to QCF with expert in house support and training partners
- Listen to your needs and concerns and take an interest in your personal development
- 3 week rolling rota, so you know when you’re working in advance
Week 1 - Monday, Thursday and Saturday
Week 2 - Tuesday, Friday and Sunday
Week 3 - Wednesday
**All our shifts are 7.30am - 10.30pm plus sleep. The ability to commit to these hours is a must to ensure the needs of our home are being met.**
*Growth Package - Travel allowance during 6-month probation period up to £1000- terms apply. One off cost of living payment contribution after successful probation. Company care after successful probation.
