**About the Role**

Reflecting the increasing importance of accurate wordings and the growth of LSM’s London market business, an experienced wordings specialist is sought to join our established Contract Wordings team.

**About the Department & Team**

The Contract Wording team offer underwriters a skilled resource providing technical analysis and product development.

We also provide underwriting management with safeguards that business written meets relevant regulatory and prudential requirements.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Assist in designing and updating LSM products in collaboration with Underwriters, underwriting management, Legal and various internal and external parties as necessary.
- Assist in designing and maintaining wording review thresholds and outline review criteria in collaboration with Underwriters, underwriting management and Underwriting Performance Management
- Providing timely review of wordings and associated documentation and provision to underwriters of appropriate and solutions-based feedback
- Contribute to strategic initiatives in the Contract Wordings team and provision of technical resource to other initiatives as required
- Communicate and negotiate with external clients and LSM colleagues (in particular Underwriting, Claims, Risk, Legal & Compliance) in order to establish and build good working relationships.
- Within scope of class specific underwriting responsibilities, to develop wordings and technical services to include; project work, attendance at underwriter meetings, business planning, feedback on trends, product and market intelligence gathering and provision of training as required
- Maintaining details of work requests to ensure accurate records are kept and attending internal Departmental and Divisional meetings
- Attending external meetings in respect of wordings and technical matters at Lloyds Market Association and other external organisations
- Preparing and delivering presentations and producing reports as required and distributing information to Senior and Divisional Management to ensure awareness of current status and to identify improvements to current processes

**Skills and Experience**
- Up-to-date knowledge of wordings and technical requirements relating to London Market placements of International Casualty (Direct, & Facultative) business. Also, working knowledge of Excess of Loss and other classes of business is desirable.
- Good organisational skills.
- Good communication skills
- High level of attention to detail
- Ability to work in a tight deadline environment
- Self-starter with a track record of challenging the status quo and identifying opportunities for process improvement and capacity creation
- Possess flexibility and adaptability to manage changing work requirements and varying volumes of work proactively
- Experience in a relevant technical role which includes contract review or drafting (e.g., wordings, claims, legal, broker back up).
