The Coffee House started its journey in 2011 and today its Warehouse, Production kitchen and Bakery supplies 16 stores and counting. The central facilities have just moved to a purpose built, brand new premises in Warrington. The Coffee House is now looking for an experienced Bakery Manager to come and join the team. With the support of the Production Manager, Managing a team of Bakers and Confectioners, ensuring that ingredients are ordered in a timely manner, that staff schedules support the production plan, and that sales are exceeded month on month.

Key Responsibilities
- This role is to oversee the production of high quality and large volumes of baking products for our stores across the North of England. Using ingredients which are sourced from local and independent suppliers who support the local economy but also ensure we receive fresh, high quality produce.
- Management & organization is key in this role as you will have the responsibility of leading, coaching and managing the baking and confectionary team.
- You must be able to work well under pressure, produce work to the highest of standards and have an eye for detail and quality.
- Health and Safety is paramount, and must be adhered to at all times, and positively promoted within your team.
- You will be responsible for all in house baking of bread and pastries.
- To produce quality confectionery products using our in house recipes and specifications, taking into consideration seasonal specials (Easter, Christmas, Valentines etc)
- To successfully create working schedules that meet the demands of production without increasing cost.
- Your customer base is our Store Managers and their customers. Proactively respond to feedback regarding products ensuring there is continuous improvement.
- Use your own initiative in creating new products as well as working out all costings
- Training staff to produce high quality bakery items while following proper food handling procedures.
- Inspecting bakery items to ensure that established standards on quality, uniformity and aesthetic appeal.
- Liaising with the warehouse and central kitchen and with support of the production manager agree to the daily output levels to meet the needs of the business.
- Responsible for safe food preparation and service, the correct storage & labelling of ingredients and produce bakery goods to the recipe specifications provided.
- To be a good communicator within the business.
- Clean thoroughly always and ensure routine cleaning is completed
- To use all equipment and machinery safely and maintain it in good condition.
- To use all the systems, policies and processes set out by the company.
- To record all relevant checks and information on our iauditor system
- To open and close the bakery by following all guidelines set out.

The person:

- A proven track record of managing a bakery or baking department.
- Preferable qualifications in baking, pastry or culinary arts
- Qualifications in food safety and hygiene.
- Sound knowledge of different baking techniques
- Ability to work under pressure
- Outstanding problem solving skills
- Excellent management skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Hours of work are 3am - 2pm/7am - 3pm working 5 out of 7 days on a rota basis most likely Monday - Sunday.
