We are looking for a Vehicle Dynamics HiL Technical Specialist. The position is to use simulation methods de-risk our P3 autonomous platform delivery.

Applicants must have 10+ years of specialist experience in the automotive industry, specifically on vehicle dynamics and HiL/DiL integration. We are looking for a technically talented, analytical and multi skilled individual with good communication skills.

The Vehicle Dynamics HiL Technical Specialist must have rounded vehicle dynamics, chassis/electrical engineering, networks integration and DiL/HiL simulation experience.

**Who and what will you be working with?**

You will work within an agile Chassis team, reporting to our Head of Chassis. You will coordinate internal stakeholders, delivering feedback on control stability and vehicle manoeuvre safety.

**What will you be responsible for?**
- Develop and interact with the suppliers of all the things you need to build rigs and deliver (including any specialist licensing & h/w)
- Manage the budget assigned to deliver and be creative to minimize spend and find solutions
- Use the DiL environment to run ahead of physical vehicle test plan to assess control stability, vehicle stability and high severity critical failure modes (fault injection). Generate reports relating to stability and safety, that provide the “green light” (or not) for physical vehicle testing. Socialize these finding with those responsible to approving vehicle testing risks
- Key fact holder/ technical expert for VeD DiL/ HiL vehicle stability and control interactions
- Where support or skills are required in adjacent areas but are not available (within the chassis domain), if these are within your skillset, be flexible and support. Escalate if unsustainable
- Make recommendations and develop countermeasures to resolve issues

**Who are we looking for?**
- Hons Degree in control, electrical, automotive engineering, computer science or a similar applicable discipline.
- Ideally qualified > masters level education.
- >10 years of mixed automotive experience in the Vehicle Dynamics, simulation, DiL, HiL or control domain.
- Experience of coding in multiple languages.
- Experience of developing plant models and replicating vehicle control architecture in MatLab Simulink.
- Experience of chassis mechatronics and their control.
- Experience with functional safety methodology (ideally Automotive ISO 26262).
- Experience with automotive CAN & CAN FD networks and gateways
- Software toolset

- dSpace or Open ECU etc.
- Draw.io
- MS office 365 tools (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel etc.)

This person needs to
- Have strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Have experience of working in a startup is preferable.
- Be eligible to work in the UK (sponsorship not available)
- Be able to travel domestically and internationally as defined by the project need.
