Inverurie, United Kingdom Quarriers Full time

**The Vacancy**

**Young Carer Family Wellbeing Worker, £24,855, Aberdeenshire Carers Service, Inverurie**

**Care to join us? Then come reach your full potential at Quarriers.**

Do you have a passion for people and care about helping others live fulfilling lives? We are looking for caring individuals who share Quarriers values.

**Quarriers have Investors in People Platinum accreditation.**

Quarriers is one of Scotland's leading social care charities. We provide much-needed care and support for thousands of vulnerable children, young people, adults and families to reach their true potential. In partnership with other services in Aberdeenshire, our focus will be on the early identification of people with caring responsibilities. Our specific service will provide support to alleviate the impact of significant caring responsibilities on carers and promote their wellbeing and ensure their rights are met.

A carer is anyone who cares, unpaid, for a friend or family member who due to illness, disability, a mental health problem or an addiction cannot cope without their support.

There is a wide range of reasons why the person being cared for may require support:

- physical or learning disability
- substance misuse or addiction
- frail or elderly
- mental health problems
- long term illness

Quarriers aim to raise the profile of Carers and awareness among the community and professionals. We encourage respect and recognition from the professionals with whom Carers are in contact and improved support for the person being cared for to make the carer’s role more manageable.

This role will aim to identify Carers throughout Aberdeenshire who are adversely affected by their high-level caring role. You will work with carers and their families to ensure the negative impact of caring is minimized and that they are able to access the same opportunities as their peers.

**Full details of this role can be viewed on the attached Job Role Profile.**

**Please note that IT skills are required for all Quarriers vacancies.**

**For more information on these roles please contact Heather Knowles on 07734 979 954.**

At Quarriers our staff are our most important asset, therefore we offer extensive training and impressive learning and development opportunities. We are a SVQ accredited centre. You could be part of an organisation that not only offers excellent careers but makes a real difference to thousands of People’s lives.

**About Us**
