Ainscough Crane Hire are currently recruiting a Trainee Mobile Crane Operator to be based out of our Coventry depot on a full-time, permanent basis starting immediately.
Who are we looking for?
We are on the lookout for a Trainee Mobile Crane Operator with a valid HGV Class 2 / Class C Licence, along with experience. Our values are about delivering great customer care in addition to working safely. You will be a natural problem solver and able to work effectively in a team. Due to our equipment, there is a maximum weight capacity of 134kg (21 stone).

Ainscough Crane Hire are the market leader and also the largest crane hire company in the UK. Boasting over 400 cranes (between 40t-1000t) across 30 locations nationwide, we can service clients between John O'Groats and Lands' End and everywhere in between.
We were founded in 1976 in Wigan, Greater Manchester and have grown significantly within that time, working across a number of industries including: Construction, Infrastructure, Power Generation, Petrochemical and industrial markets.

Job Purpose/Objective:
- To provide a high-quality lifting service to our customers ensuring priority is given to the safety of employees, customers and the public.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work to manufacturer's instructions at all times.
- Adhere to road traffic regulations.
- Ensure PPE is worn at all appropriate times
- Conversant with the correct use of outriggers and aware they should be used on level ground.
- Set and check the functioning of the rated capacity limiter and rated capacity indicator.
- Perform the correct use of manual handling i.e. Outrigger Pans.
- Liaise with Site Manager/Project Manager upon arrival on site.
- Be able to resist pressures from other persons to carry out unsafe operations.
- Be aware of the effects of wind and other climatic effects on the crane and load.
- Able to take the action to avoid dangerous situations, including stopping operations.
- Operate fire suppressant equipment, if fitted.
- Access and depart the crane by safe use of ladders and grab rails.
- Carry out training on specific models of crane, become familiar with rigging and maintenance procedures and conversant with all crane documentation.
- Continually seek to improve the way in which the role operates within the business to achieve its objectives.

Education/Knowledge/Experience
- Full Drivers Licence
- HGV Class C Licence
- Previous experience driving HGV
- Strong knowledge of road traffic regulations
