The company’s proprietary telehealth app, APN Connection, is available to provide virtual therapy and group support.

**Job summary**

The role of an Addiction Therapist or Counsellor with extensive experience and knowledge in trauma work, is to provide specialist assessments, using clinical interviews and other assessments methods as appropriate, to formulate and advise trauma and addiction treatments and care management plans for people who use APN London services. We offer treatment and interventions to recover from addiction and trauma related mental health challenges, both on a one to one basis and in trauma group psychotherapy. The aim is to provide specialist trauma and addiction treatment so clients t opportunity to build resilience and work towards recovery.

Applicants will be providing individual gender sensitive, trauma informed, one to one counselling and therapeutic services, including education and therapeutic group work in an outpatient setting to people who have experienced trauma with associated substance use.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**:

- To provide high-quality, evidence-based addiction and trauma treatments for patients with mental health problems.
- Good formulation skills to identify treatment for a range of complex psychological presentations.
- Ability to be self-reflective whilst working with clients and in personal and professional development and in supervision.
- Highly motivated and committed to supporting recovery from the impacts of trauma that relates to substance misuse.
- Good IT skills.

- Group facilitation skills.
- Insight into the 12 step recovery model
- Insight in Cognitive Behavioural approach to addiction and trauma.
- Insight in to Pia Melody theories on the effects of childhood trauma
- To provide advice, guidance, and consultation to other professionals in the multidisciplinary APN London team and motivate others to advance practise and improvement of quality of care.
- To promote and develop positive and productive, effective working relationships with other multidisciplinary members of the APN clinical team, including but not limited to psychiatrists, psychotherapist, psychologist, nursing, physical trainers, and wellness practitioners.
- To facilitate Trauma and addiction groups and individual interventions and care.
- To formulate, plan care and review care with patients collaboratively.
- To liaise with other APN staff at other centres and other health and social care staff from a range of statutory and non-statutory organisations when required.
- To promote independent resilience, recovery and active involvement across mind, body, community, and soul across the continuum of care
- To assist with gathering and interpreting clinical statistical information when required.
- To always fulfil the mandatory training requirements of APN London.
- To contribute to the APN London service development and audit and any research initiatives as appropriate.
- To work with the clinical director and other psychotherapists to continue the development and enhancement of treatment programmes and other relevant APN London developments and clinical governance.
- Top record clinical work to a high standard in APN London electronic medical record system, KIPU.
- A strong commitment to professional development and learning.
