An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the Paediatric Outpatients Department, Bronglais General Hospital. We are looking for an approachable, dynamic and innovative Assistant Practitioner who is articulate with good interpersonal and communication skills.

This exciting role will offer you the opportunity to work as part of this friendly, supportive and experienced team working with children, young people and their families.

The post will be based in Outpatients Department, Bronglais General Hospital.

The post holder is expected to independently manage their own work and case load.

This is a full time post 37.5 hours per week working predominantly daytime duties, although does require flexibility to meet service needs.

As an Assistant Nursing Practitioner the post holder is expected to independently manage their own work and case load within the paediatric outpatient department.

**Within the role the post holder will**:
Work as part of a Multi-disciplinary team in the Paediatric Outpatients Department. To manage their own work load and caseload. Your initial assessment of a patients would including routine observations, height and weight, urine analysis, blood glucose analysis and in addition to this to support paediatric clinics and undertake skills such as ECGs, Venopuncture, Lung Function Tests, allergy testing and chaperoning.

To ensure within their role a holistic approach to the patient, one which ensures family centred care and delivery of Hywel Dda University Health Board's core values.

Report regularly to the ward manager, recognising own limitations and seeking advice if you are unsure.

**Four main hospitals**: Bronglais General in Aberystwyth, Glangwili General in Carmarthen, Prince Philip in Llanelli and Withybush General in Haverfordwest;
**Seven community hospitals**: Amman Valley and Llandovery in Carmarthenshire; Tregaron, Aberaeron and Cardigan in Ceredigion; and Tenby and South Pembrokeshire Hospital Health and Social Care Resource Centre in Pembrokeshire;
48 general practices (five of which are managed practices), 47 dental practices (including three orthodontic), 99 community pharmacies, 44 general ophthalmic practices (43 providing Eye Health Examination Wales and 34 low vision services) and 17 domiciliary only providers and 11 health centres;
Numerous locations providing mental health and learning disabilities services;
Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.
