They will hold a pivotal role in picking, packing and the safe delivery and unpacking of Home care provisions for patients with intestinal failure requiring Home intravenous fluids and feed.
All applicants must have a UK driving license.
**Key responsibilities will include**: providing a personalised service to patients, delivering the essential equipment and treatment to the patients’ home, selecting and packing the appropriate equipment required for each patient under R Homecare HPS service from a specially designed ancillary sheet, collection of the compounded intravenous feed from the pharmacy department, ensuring the safe transportation of the prescribed Intravenous fluid to the patients homecare at the required temperature, assisting in delivery schedules, monitoring and tracking deliveries, organise stock rotation and stock level assessments in the patients home, monitoring fridge temperatures, organise the collection of equipment no longer required in the patients’ home, learn about the equipment required for each patient receiving care from the service.
Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was created on 1 October 2019 following the merger of two adult acute Trusts, Aintree University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust.

The successful post holder will work closely with the R Homecare Coordinator and the R Homecare Home Parenteral Solutions(HPS) service team in the established HPS service delivery. They will hold a pivotal role in picking, packing and the safe delivery and unpacking of Home care provisions for patients with intestinal failure requiring Home intravenous fluids and feed.

The applicant must be able to lift equipment including boxes of fluids (5kg) and medium fridges (with a colleague). Trolleys are available but the applicant will need to lift the equipment into the van and then transfer to the trolley to take into the patients home.
All interested applicants must have knowledge of Microsoft Excel and access. Have excellent communication skills to work with the various members of the multidisciplinary team, be fully committed and be flexible.
This is more than just a driver's position, this role forms part of a specialised service endorsed by NHSE to ensure a high standard of care delivery is provided and received by patients at home receiving intravenous fluids and food.
As a homecare driver you will receive training and skill development in HPS service provision, the impact this has on a patients' quality of life, patient assessment and enhance observational skills.
You will be required to complete all the Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust mandatory training on line and attend an induction course prior to commencing in this role.
You will report to the R Homecare Coordinator who will be your line manager and responsible to the Lead Nurse for the R Homecare service
