**Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle Driver**

Cotswold Friends is a compassionate local charity dedicated to enriching the lives of older and vulnerable people in the Cotswolds. We offer a variety of crucial services including Community Transport, Befriending, Carer Support, Independence, Hospital Support, and Community Activities. Through our voluntary efforts, we aim to improve health and wellbeing for our clients, reduce loneliness and isolation and promote independent living.

Cotswold Friends is excited to be expanding its established and well utilised Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle transport service into Cirencester and the surrounding area and we are currently seeking a committed and reliable individual to join our team as a Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV) Driver. This vital role involves transporting wheelchair users in our charity-owned vehicle, ensuring their safe and comfortable journey to various appointments and destinations across the region.

Drive the charity-owned WAV in accordance with instructions from the transport booking team.

Fully support and assist passengers throughout their journey, ensuring safe embarkation and disembarkation

Ensure safe operation and supervision of equipment, including wheelchairs, headrests etc

Conduct thorough vehicle checks and ensure all equipment is in proper working condition before each journey.

Fully understand the safeguarding of Cotswold Friends clients and reporting where applicable

Log working hours, client details, timings, and mileage after each drive, submitting records promptly.

Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the vehicle at all times.

Be proactive in identifying opportunities for improvement of the WAV service.

**Have you**:
Got a valid driver's license with clean driving record.

Got previous experience in driving, particularly with wheelchair accessible vehicles preferred but not essential, as training will be provided.

Got excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Got the ability to maintain accurate records and follow instructions diligently.

Got commitment to providing exceptional service to our passengers.

Already got knowledge of, or happy to be trained on, safeguarding protocols.

**Contract Type**: Zero-hours contract

**Salary Type**: Salary monthly - based on hours worked

**Salary**: £12 per hour

Pro-rata - 25 days accrued annual leave based on hours worked plus bank holidays
