**The role**

The purpose of this role is to carry out day to day repairs and maintenance to our housing stock. There will also be a necessity to be available for the out of hours cover on a rota system.

It has the following main responsibilities;
- Follow agreed targets and objectives with regards to the role
- Ensure maximum productivity ensuring work has been carried out effectively and efficiently
- Develop and maintain good levels of communication with all contract team members and operatives
- Develop good working relationships with internal and external staff
- Learn from your experiences
- Ensure strict compliance with company and legislative requirements
- To ensure the satisfaction of the customer by having a fixed first-time approach to all jobs
- Assist the Contract manager / supervisors to ensure the working environment is compliant with all Health & Safety matters
- Communicate with planners, call handlers and other office members to ensure the smooth day to day operation of the repairs service
- Co-ordinate with other operatives on site and work with a team player approach
- Follow work instructions efficiently and carry out works required as detailed in the instruction
- Let everyone see from your actions what you mean by excellent service

**What we need**

For this role you’ll need to have the following skills and experience;
This post has a minimum requirement for the skill below and you should be qualified within the trade below

Painting & Decorating (desirable NVQ level2 in Painting/Decorating)

You must be able to carry out a range of external and internal painting and redecoration tasks in occupied and empty properties whilst achieving a durable and quality finish.
- Measure for fittings and listing necessary materials.
- Maintain and replenish vehicle stock.
- Collection and delivery of materials.
- Erect use and dismantle access equipment.
- Approachable and self motivated, capable of motivating others through effective working relationships
- Sees challenges not problems
- Responsive in the event of unexpected incidents
- Collaborative team player who recognises the value of good working relationships with others
- Believes and delivers a customer first approach
- A current, valid licence.
- Please note due to health and safety reasons, all operatives wear RPE and so we operate under a clean shaven policy.
