**About the role**

We’re looking for Trainee Probation Officers to join our team within the Department of Home Affairs and work together to keep our Island safe.

Working within the Prison and Probation Service you will be part of a small professional team and will play an important role in keeping the Island’s community safe through the assessment, management and support of offenders in the community and in custody to reduce the risk of re-offending. You will also support victims of crime in providing information regarding sentences, licence conditions and signposting them to appropriate support agencies.

This is a challenging role and you will need to have excellent interpersonal and communication skills; the ability to adapt to changing priorities; and work with discretion, diplomacy and sound judgement.
