**About the role and our team**
Join our team as a Trainee Forensic Psychologist within The Department of Home Affairs
The Department of Home Affairs is responsible for ensuring community safety in the Isle of Man and we aim to improve the quality of life for Island residents by providing effective services for their safety, protection and security.
You will be part of a small professional team based in the Probation Service, playing an important role in keeping the Island’s community safe.
Within this role, you will provide assessment, treatment and support for offenders in the community and in custody, to reduce the risk of re-offending. You will work closely with all types of offenders to understand their behaviour, assess high-risk, complex and diverse cases, undertake intervention work, consultancy and research.
We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills and the ability to contribute to the development of individual and group intervention programmes.

**Additional information**
Please note an enhanced with barring police check is required for this post, which the Department will cover the cost of for you. Please note if you have lived for more than 6 months outside of the UK in the last 5 years, you will be required to obtain a Letter of Good Standing from the appropriate authorities in the relevant locations, please read the guidance about how to obtain this letter.
A full valid driving licence and access to your own vehicle is required for this role.
A relocation package and interview expenses are not available for this role.
