Manual Handling Advisor

A position has become available for a manual handling advisor to join the Trust Health and Safety team. The post holder will ideally have knowledge and experience of working clinically, moving and assisting with patient manoeuvres.

The post holder will be instrumental in the review and updating of the way in which manual handling training is delivered within the Trust.

The post holder will support in the updating, implementation and ongoing audit of the new processes to ensure that the staff within the Trust receive effective and informative training, in order to cascade to the wider teams.

The review will include all aspects of ergonomics including DSE.

The post holder will be required to review training practices and update in accordance with technological advancement and best practice guidance.

The post holder will be expected to develop and implement training on manual handling practices, delivering to clinical and non-clinical colleagues.

The post holder will be required to audit and inspect trainers in the workplace to ensure training has been understood and effectively implemented.

The post holder will review incident reports relating to handling injuries and near misses and support with investigations where the injury has required to be reported to the Health and Safety Executive.
