We are recruiting a permanent, part-time (30 hrs pw), term-time Pupil Support Officer to join our team at Queensferry High School. This role has a specific focus on Welfare and Family Liaison - supporting the social, emotional and mental health and wellbeing of identified young people and their families in Queensferry High School. The post will also have a focus on anxiety supports for young people in school, supporting them to improve attendance and engagement in their learning and wider school community.

As a member of the school team, Pupil Support Officers play a key role in supporting the assessment, planning and direct support of children and young people in relation to relationships and emotional health and wellbeing. These additional support needs may or may not be associated with or in addition to other identified additional support needs.

As part of the Wellbeing Academy for Emotional Health and Wellbeing the post holder will work with individual pupils, including those experiencing complex social, emotional and behavioural difficulties, whose behaviour means that they finding it more challenging to be in the classroom.

Queensferry High School is a six-year comprehensive school in the North West Locality of the City of Edinburgh Council. We are delighted to have moved into our brand new school with excellent new resources.

The new school has capacity for 1,200 students and has commanding views of the Forth Estuary (including the three bridges).

We're committed to creating a workplace culture where all our people feel valued, included and able to be their best at work, and we recognise the benefits that a diverse workforce with different values, beliefs, experience, and backgrounds brings to us as an organisation.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
