Our client is looking for a Repairs Specialist (1 post) to join their Property Services team in the Greater Manchester region.

About the role

This role is a home based role, where there is no daily requirement to attend an office with the flexibility to attend as required.

Reporting to the Repairs Manager, you will work collaboratively with contractors and colleagues to ensure their repairs service is delivered to their customers, their properties are well maintained and to contribute to the delivery of neighbourhood planobjectives.

The post holder will respond to customer enquiries relating to their home, which require a face to face visit. You will deal directly with customers who experience problems with contractor performance, taking personal responsibility for ensuring satisfactoryresolution. You are also required to provide advice and assistance to customers and help maintain their homes.

You will carry out property defect and repair inspections; providing the appropriate diagnosis, whilst issuing orders to contractors including prioritising, cost-coding and estimating. You will ensure all work is to a high standard, monitoring and controllingthe supervision of work in progress as well as adopting a project management approach to the management of properties requiring major works. You will monitor spend against budgets, reporting any important disparities and take action to remain within budget.You will ensure colleagues, contractors and customers comply with health and safety, equal opportunity and other statutory guidelines.

You will also have significant experience of developing partnership working with support agencies, local authorities and community groups. You will alsohold a recognised HNC/D Building related qualification.
