The Triage Officer will be responsible for creating and maintaining relationships with partners to generate leads so that all potential employability participants in Bridgend are put through the Triage process ensuring the correct provision is recommended. There will be a need to develop referral pathways with other provision and to develop innovative ways, including community engagement, to ensure the maximum numbers of referrals to Employability Bridgend are reached thus ensuring that engagement targets are met.

The post holder will provide initial support to clients through a robust assessment process before making a decision based on gathered evidence to refer to an appropriate employability provision essentially using a range of experience, skills and techniques to support vulnerable people. There will also need to have a detailed knowledge and understanding of all projects and opportunities in Bridgend so that clients can be ably supported to increase their employability prospects.

In particular, the Triage Officer will liaise with employability provision across the county borough and will play a key role in ensuring processes and systems are in place for effective monitoring of referrals into Employability Bridgend during the pre-enrolment stage. There will be an adherence to accurate record keeping, along with other team members, in line with Welsh and UK Government funding standards.
