**Reports To**:Wellbeing Groups Team Lead

**Salary**:£10.52/hour

**Location**:Aylesbury

**Hours of work**: Varies as required, weekdays only

**Basic Function**

To work as part of a team to facilitate a caring and motivating service which enables service users suffering mental health illnesses to achieve their wellness goals and aspirations through recovery focused interventions and person-centred support.

**Main responsibilities**
- Facilitate activities and opportunities with a focus on wellbeing and recovery in line with the needs of service users.
- Engage warmly with a range of different individuals with varying needs
- Actively engage with professionals, other services, carers and wider networks in supporting the recovery of the service user
- Maintain up to date knowledge concerning local community activities and support to provide relevant signposting for service users
- Keep all services users informed of appropriate additional Bucks Mind services, including volunteering opportunities, which can be accessed to support recovery and wellbeing

**Other**
- Manage situations that may arise in a confident and appropriate manner.Attend team meetings if required.
- Follow Bucks Minds safeguarding policies and procedures at all times.
- Undertake such duties not included in the job description as are reasonably requested by the Wellbeing Groups Team Lead.

**Requirements**:
Qualifications and experience
- Has experience of the issues affecting adults with mental health illnesses (E)
- Has administration skills and experience (E)
- English and Maths to GCSE level (D)
- Experience of working with adults in the mental health sector or similar support or care giving role (E)

**Knowledge, skills and abilities**
- Is able to motivate, encourage and work individually with people to identify potential and support recovery (E)
- Maintains confidentiality in line with Buckinghamshire Mind policy (E)
- Has knowledge of social and situational factors influencing adults’ mental health, recovery and wellbeing (E)
- Has an understanding of, and sensitivity to the needs of people living with mental and emotional problems. (E)
- Has excellent communication skills, especially with adults who experience/have experienced mental health illness (E)
- Has the ability to respond appropriately to people in distress and maintain appropriate boundaries. (E)
- Understanding of equality and diversity principles (E)
- Is committed to working in an anti-oppressive way and striving to create equal opportunities for all people (E)
