Meet Dave (name changed for privacy) - a lively and engaging young man in his early 30s who is passionate about football, video games, and exploring new experiences. Dave is looking for a Senior Autism Worker, who can not only share in his interests but also support him in managing day-to-day life with autism.
**About the Role**:

**Day-to-Day Activities Include**:
- Shared Interests: Engaging Dave in discussions about his favourite football team, Manchester United, or joining him in a game of FIFA or Skyrim. You’ll help integrate his interests into daily activities that support his engagement and social skills.
- Community Engagement: Accompanying Dave on outings for coffee at The Beach Cafe, enjoying walks on the beach, or visiting local charity shops. You will support him in pairs in the community to ensure his safety and comfort.
- Culinary Adventures: Assisting Dave as he rekindles his love for cooking and baking. This could involve simple tasks like making microwave meals or more involved cooking sessions when his mum visits.
- Support with Routine: Helping Dave establish a stable daily routine that includes his hobbies and personal care, adapting as needed to meet his autism-related needs.
**What You’ll Bring**:
- Experience in Autism Care: Solid experience and understanding of autism, with the ability to connect with Dave through his interests and daily challenges.
- Empathy and Support: A patient and empathetic approach, ready to support Dave in a manner that promotes his independence while ensuring his safety.
- Leadership: Capability to guide and mentor staff, enhancing their abilities to support Dave and other service users effectively.
- Communication and Adaptability: Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate clearly with Dave, his family, and your team, adapting quickly to meet changing needs.
**Responsibilities Include**:
- Tailoring daily activities and support plans that enrich Dave’s life.
- Managing risk assessments to ensure a safe environment both at home and in the community.
- Supporting staff to develop their skills and understanding in autism care.
- Ensuring Dave’s well-being, safety, and happiness through proactive and responsive care.
**What We Offer**:
- A fulfilling role with the opportunity to make a significant, positive impact on an individual’s life.
- A dynamic work environment where no two days are the same.
- Professional development opportunities and potential for career advancement.
**Qualifications**:
- Proven experience and passion for working in the social care sector, especially with individuals with autism.
- A commitment to excellence in care and personal development.
If you’re looking for a role where you can truly make a difference and share in the joys of helping someone live their best life, we would love to hear from you. Join us and be part of a team that values dedication, care, and the personal growth of all its members.
**Please note**: While it is intended that you will be working exclusively with this individual, there may be times when, as an employee of Specialist Care Team, you are working with others as well.
