The joint Acute and Community SLT Team are a supportive, friendly and social group of therapists, SLT apprentice, assistants and admin staff serving the Fylde Coast population. We strive for continued improvement and innovation to provide a high-quality responsive service. Over recent years we have streamlined our telehealth capabilities and continue to improve our long-established videofluoroscopy service. We are also in the process of moving forward in being able to offer suitable patients pharyngeal electrical stimulation within the inpatient setting. We are supportive of and committed to continuing professional development and the training of SLT students.

- deliver a high standard of person-centred SLT care to adults, by participating in the management (assessment, diagnosis, treatment and discharge) of adults with dysphagia and/or disorders of communication across a variet of community settings eg. clinics, home visits, telehealth etc
- be involved in the provision of support, guidance and information to patients, their families and other professionals regarding swallowing and communication.
- assist in the clinical supervision and education of speech and language therapy assistants.
- participate in the clinical education of speech and language therapy students.
- work within and adhere to the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct, The Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) Standards of Practice, relevant Trust policies, procedures and guidelines.
- possibly participate in SLT rotation scheme across the wider service.
