This is a new role for ScotRail, reporting to the Director of Human Resources. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that wellbeing, equity, and employee engagement, have the prominence needed to drive enhanced employee experience and improved health outcomes for all the people who work across the ScotRail network.

You will have experience of effectively improving wellbeing in the workplace and will be confident leading and delivering health surveillance and assessment processes and will be able to evidence the impact of your approach.

You will have the skills and experience to ensure that our people have access to an occupational health service that supports our colleagues to be fit and safe to work and supports our managers to create the conditions to maximise productivity and minimise work-related ill health.

Able to enthuse and influence, you will work with colleagues to both inform and deliver a coherent strategic framework that enables colleagues to mainstream EDI (Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion) practice and ensures that ScotRail is positioned to tackle inequalities that affect the experience and outcomes for our people.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has a real interest in improving employee experience and would like the opportunity to lead on this area.

**The person**

You will be politically astute and able to craft succinct papers, briefings, and presentations for a range of audiences.

You will be an inclusive leader, able to enthuse your team to work collaboratively and give their best.

You will have a robust understanding of employment and equalities legislation and an awareness of emerging trends so that ScotRail maximises opportunities to improve employee experience and minimises legislative and reputational risk.

**Knowledge/Skills**
- CIPD Qualification
- NEBOSH or similar health and safety management and/or occupational hygiene and ergonomics certification is desirable.
- Experience in leading, designing and delivering impactful health and wellbeing strategies including proactive health surveillance and initiatives that reduce sickness absence.
- Effective leadership and communications skills will be essential for success in this role.
- Robust analytical skills, with the ability to perform analysis of quantitative and qualitative data and make sense of findings and translate these into priority areas for attention so that achievable actions and measures are developed.
- You will know how to maximise technology so that opportunities for efficiencies and improved collaboration are maximised.
- You will be able to exercise diplomacy and will be skilled at using evidence and insight to influence change at all levels in an organisation and with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

The role is based at Atrium Court, 35 hours per week Monday to Friday.

Salary £81,500 per annum.
