We’re excited to be recruiting for a Senior Communications Officer within our Group Communications team to focus on media and additional content for our internal channels to our 28,000 colleagues. As the main lead for our busy press office, you will have a great team spirit and a ‘can do’ attitude, creating engaging external content with a focus on bringing positive patient experiences and stories to life; engaging with staff within the MFT group and identifying case studies and content to be disseminated across a broad selection of external media.

As for you, you’re highly experienced in working across complex organisations and fluent in generating captivating content. Confident, articulate, tenacious and skilled in identifying a compelling story, you’ll have a talent for producing creative and engaging copy at a quick pace, targeted at a range of audiences. As no day is ever the same at MFT, you’ll be comfortable working flexibly and be a highly adaptable individual who has the ability to support a wide mix of communications work.

**Qualifications**:
Education to post graduate level or equivalent related experience

Knowledge

Knowledge of using social media management tools and writing
content for different audiences

**Skills**:
Excellent communications skills, written and oral; good listening
skills
Must be able to provide and receive highly complex, sensitive or
contentious information, and present complex and sensitive
information to large and influential groups.
Excellent interpersonal skills, strong customer focus
Ability to deal with queries in a professional, organised and
supportive manner. This may involve dealing with calls of a sensitive or contentious nature.
Ability to work accurately and with attention to fine details
Ability to deliver against targets, and to plan and prioritise work in the face of competing demands

COVID-19 vaccination remains the best way to protect yourself, your family, your colleagues and of course patients from the virus when working in our healthcare settings. Whilst COVID-19 vaccination is not currently a condition of employment, we do encourage our staff to get vaccinated. We will be checking the vaccination status of all new starters so that we can manage individual and environmental risks, and so that we can support those who may be undecided about vaccination.

There is currently Government consultation underway which will determine whether some new employees may need to be vaccinated.
