After opening ten new stores since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, with ambitions to add 20 more branches to our impressive portfolio, Majestic is one of the few retailers in the country that is expanding our bricks and mortar business. We now need a fantastic new store team to help us continue that physical retail growth in Chippenham.

Joining our team will offer you an incredible opportunity to develop and grow one of our new stores in what is a brand new location for Majestic. You’ll be leading the charge for experience-based retail, wowing a raft of new and high-value customers with your brilliant knowledge, service and passion - in a superb site we’ve long had our eye on. This is a great chance to be at the forefront of our store opening strategy in a very promising location.

The historical market town of Chippenham is one of the West Country’s most vibrant towns. Chippenham enjoys a reputation as a flourishing and lively market town, with a compact centre and thriving commercial life. The main shopping areas are on and adjacent to the High Street, Market Place and Hathaway retail Park - which is where our new site is located. Chippenham’s colourful and booming street markets are held on Fridays and Saturdays in the High Street and offer a variety of traditional and modern stalls.

As one of our newest Majestic teams, being proactive with growing the store and engaging with the local community will be key. There are plenty of fantastic opportunities for strong walk-in growth as the store establishes its customer base, and the affluent local area could drive sustained success for years to come. This is a brilliant opportunity to be at the forefront of an exciting new chapter, both for Chippenham and the Majestic business.

The Role

As a Majestic Wine Driver, you get the opportunity to meet and talk to different customers every day. That’s why this role is about much more than just driving: it's about helping others and delivering great service, with a smile. Its hands on, physical and full of variety.

Key Responsibilities

At Majestic Wine our Customers are at the heart of everything we do. In this role, you’ll be an ambassador for the store in which you work, supporting the team to deliver an outstanding shopping experience for every one of our customers.

Therefore, we are looking for people who:

- Be the face of the store to our delivery customers, ensuring excellent customer service and experience.
- Ensure the van is maintained to a high standard. You take pride in the van by ensuring it is clean and all compliance checks are carried out in a timely manner.
- Ensure Customers get the best shopping experience in-store and out on the road.
- Can prioritise and be efficient with your time so you and the team can spend more time with our customers finding wines they’ll love
- Maintain outstanding store condition and visual merchandising standards
- Involvement in all operational tasks required for the day-to-day operational running a Majestic Wine store - from delivering wine to our customers, merchandising stock deliveries and calling our valued customers to drive sales opportunities.
- Constantly finding ways to be more efficient with the driving time, understanding the cost impact on inefficient delivery runs
- Support the picking and loading of deliveries.
- Be confident to support the store whilst team members have a lunch break
- You are constantly improving your wine knowledge so you can share this with our customers (don’t worry, we will teach you everything you need to know)

Knowledge & Skills Required
- Excellent time-management, delegation and problem-solving skills
- Be able to demonstrate your ability to deliver exceptional customer experience & service to every single customer
- Self-motivated, able to thrive when working alone and as part of a team
- A can-do attitude with a passion for seeing problems through to solutions
- Adaptable and resilient to meet the ever-changing demands of our business
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Wine knowledge is beneficial but passion to learn more is essential to pass level 2 WSET wine qualifications
- Hold a full UK/EU/EEA driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 penalty points.
