**Main purpose of job**:Develop and deliver a programme of education and training activities and partnerships that delivers on the vision and mission of the Mammal Society.
**Background to the Mammal Society**
Established in 1954 we are a UK based charity devoted to the study and conservation of the mammals of the British Isles. We aim to raise awareness of the issues mammals face and share our scientific research so they can be best protected in the future. A small team of staff delivers big results through coordination and promotion of surveys, trainings, campaigns, publications and events that inspire, inform and mobilise our members and supporters and support the work of grassroots mammal groups and individual volunteers.
Following a change in leadership, The Mammal Society is undergoing a period of review and refresh in its vision, mission and approach. We are seeking a talented, enthusiastic Education & Training Officer with a passion for nature, science and conservation who will help us to deliver on our vision for a brighter future for mammals in the British Isles through schools and university engagement and a high-quality adult training programme.

**Key Responsibilities**
**Training**
- Work with the CEO to develop a strategic plan for training that maximises revenue and supports other areas of Mammal Society work to deliver against strategic objectives.
- Lead on developing an engaging and high quality training programme, liaising as appropriate with the staff, Scientific Advisory Committee and Training Working Group of the Mammal Society to devise and agree the programme and source trainers.
- Organise, advertise and coordinate a programme of regular webinars that attract broad audiences to amplify Mammal Society key priority messages and programmes
**Education**
- Work with the CEO to develop a strategic plan for schools engagement and supporter journeys for schools, teachers and education sector partners.
- Work with staff and volunteers to lead the definition and delivery of a programme of school engagement that contributes to achieving Mammal Society strategic objectives.
- Work with volunteers, freelancers and partners to develop resources and activations for schools that strengthen the relationship between Mammal Society and schools, and contribute to Mammal Society strategic objectives
- Lead on defining and building relationships with universities, working with staff and volunteers to identify opportunities to support Mammal Society strategic objective.
- Work with the Communications Officer and other staff and volunteers to define and deliver student activations that deliver on Mammal Society strategic objectives.
- Monitor developments in the education sector and policy landscape to identify opportunities for the Mammal Society.

- Provide support for other Mammal Society initiatives and events as requested by the CEO
**Person Specification**
- Experience in and knowledge of the UK education sector
- Experience designing and/or coordinating training and speaker events with a variety of stakeholder groups
- Partnership development and relationship management
- Proven confidence working with children and/or young people
- Creativity and imagination
- An eye for detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to work well independently and with a team
- Initiative and resourcefulness, ability to innovate and problem-solve
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously
- Able to give, receive and respond to feedback constructively
- Adaptability and flexibility, able and willing to respond quickly to challenges and opportunities
- Knowledge of design and video editing software would be an asset
- Evaluation and reporting skills and experience
- Ability to think strategically and identify ways to improve programmes in light of feedback or evaluation
